SAD NEWS: Another West Ham star player has been terribly injured

West Ham’s Thomas Soucek had plastic surgery on his face after sustaining an injury against Everton

Soucek was caught in the act by Salomon Rondon’s studs as the Toffees striker went for the ball. The Czech Republic international suffered cuts to his eye, nose and lip during West Ham’s 1-0 victory at Goodison Park.

Tommy Soucek, who plays for West Ham, had to have plastic surgery after sustaining a serious injury when he was caught in the face by a full-length kick from the opponent.

The incident occurred when Soucek was trying to win the ball from West Ham against Everton and was caught in the crosshairs by the striker’s studs.

The striker’s studs came into contact with Soucek’s face as he tried to win the ball.

Following the incident, which occurred during West Ham’s 1-0 victory at Goodison Park, the Czech Republic international sustained cuts to his eye, nose and lip.

However, according to the club, Soucek has since recovered and is back at training ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League match against Genk.

Tomas is all right,” said West Ham boss David Moyes. “He’s a little banged up, but he’s all right. He’s got stitches in his mouth, chin and nose.

I don’t think his injury will prevent him from playing. It’s just a matter of whether we want to put him on the bench or not. Thomas is ready to play.

He has stitches in his lip and was re-surfaced with a plastic surgeon after the fight. He also has stitches in his face and nose.

He’s all right. I told him to take a look at my brows. I used to have them stitched up from my time playing centre-half, so he still has a few stitches to go before he’s at this level.

Cuts and scrapes aside, West Ham go into the game in fine form, having won their last two games to top Group H and book a place in the knock-out stage.

“I am delighted with the way things are going at the club,” said Moyes. “We are delighted with the results in the league and Europe, and I must say I am delighted with the European experience.”

I want my players to do well in this tournament. It would be fantastic if we could win the group, but the main focus right now is on making sure we make it through.

Forward Nikola Vlasic will be expected to play as he looks to score his first goal since signing from CSKA Moscow over the summer. The 24 year-old has only started one game in the Premier League, but he sees this as an opportunity. “When I came here, I was aware of the players they had, and I knew it would be a tough competition,” he said. “I have faith in the manager, he brought me here, and he knows what’s best for me, especially with a team like this one. He knows exactly how much I’ll play.”
