Gary O’Neill provides a startling injury report on Pedro Neto ahead of the Fulham clash.

Pedro Neto is making good progress in his comeback from a hamstring injury, according to Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, but the journey to Craven Cottage on Monday is too soon for the attacker.

“Pedro won’t make Monday,” Wolves manager Gary O’Neil said at a press conference. “He has a little more work to do.” Pedro will continue to work with the physios and fitness staff.

“There is no specific time frame, but he will not be available on Monday.” Hopefully, it will be weeks. It’s difficult because there will be tests, he’ll go for other check-ups and scans, and you’ll be directed by them as to how quickly he’s mending, but he’s recuperating very well.”

“He’s probably ahead of where they’d like him to be at this point.” We’re pleased with his development, but given the severity of his injuries, we need to double-check everything before he rejoins the group.”

Wolves do have additional fitness concerns ahead of their trip to London, but the Monday night game should give O’Neil a mostly fit group to choose from. Craig Dawson will miss the game due to suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in the last-second victory over Tottenham.

Although Joseph Hodge (shoulder) and Nathan Fraser (quad) are still sidelined, Matt Doherty and Mario Lemina are expected to recover. “I think everyone came back OK,” O’Neil remarked. Nathan Fraser is still missing. Mario rolled his ankle while serving on overseas duty, but he should be alright.”

“Matt Doherty has a hamstring injury but will be fine.” Hugo Bueno has returned to the scene and is doing well. Hodgey is doing well, and he’s back on the grass, but it’s all too fast for him. As long as nothing happens in the next several days, we’ll be back to normal.”
