BREAKING: Browns star player sends a strong message to Texans QB

Browns star player sends a strong message to Texans QB

Myles Garrett has no intention of easing off on his former Cleveland Browns colleague Case Keenum when they face on Sunday.

Keenum will start for the Houston Texans on Sunday, with outstanding rookie C.J. Stroud out with a concussion. He’ll spend the rest of the afternoon attempting to dodge Garrett’s pressure, albeit Keenum hinted at a possible agreement.

“I’m hoping he remembers the deal I made with him in the hot tub back in 2021,” Keenum stated on the “ManningCast” on Monday Night Football. “I told Myles, ‘Hey, if I give you two sacks in the first quarter, you just don’t rush the rest of the game.'” I’m not sure if I’ll be playing or not yet, but we’ll see if he remembers that deal.”

Peyton Manning joked that it’s a decent deal for Keenum, who was Garrett’s teammate in Cleveland for two seasons.

“I like that, that’s smart,” Manning commented. “That’s good forward-thinking on your part.”

Garrett, on the other hand, isn’t going to follow through on their verbal agreement, joking that he’s never seen a formal contract.

“I don’t recall signing anything on the dotted lines,” Garrett stated on Friday, December 22. “If he has the paper, he should show it to me on Sunday.” We might be able to come to an agreement, but until then, I guess I’ll have to perform the dirty work.”

Garrett has 13 sacks on the season but has gone four games without one. He’s been dealing with a shoulder issue and what he perceives to be harsh officiating. Despite not logging sacks, he is still having an effect.

“As far as beating blockers and having success against my matchup, I think yes,” Garrett replied when asked if he was still dominant. “Just because I’ve been successful in the past doesn’t mean I can’t take it to the next level.” That doesn’t mean I can’t improve or help better those around me, my teammates. I need to keep looking for ways to produce more explosive plays. I want to say lacking, but there has been a bit of a shortage of late, but you have to keep getting the ball for us and making those plays.”

Garrett’s work will not be any easier this week, as he will face three-time Pro Bowler Laremy Tunsil. Garrett, on the other hand, is up for the task.

“I think he’s one of the best tackles in the league, left or right,” said Garrett. “Excellent athlete with exceptional talent and technique.” Guy has everything. “I’m looking forward to the game, as I did earlier this year against Trent (Williams).”

Garrett, Browns Have High Praise for Case Keenum

Last week, Keenum led the Texans to win, passing for 229 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He has over a decade of NFL experience, and the Browns will not take him lightly.

“A true vet that has seen everything,” Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said of Keenum. “Excellent passer. He approaches things a little differently than C.J. Stroud, yet he guided them to victory last week. And, in the end, head coaches and quarterbacks are judged on victories, and Case Keenum is a winner.”

The Texans, like the Browns, are fighting for a postseason position. Houston is tied for first place in the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts at 8-6.

The Browns are 9-5 and in strong contention for a Wild Card position. With a win, Cleveland has a 99% chance of making the playoffs, according to NFL.com.
