Nottingham Forest seemingly won’t be signing Marvin Ducksch in January as he has no plans to leave Werder Bremen.

It may sound crazy after seeing Chris Wood score a hat-trick, but Forest may look towards the January market for another forward.

Divock Origi has yet to make an impact whilst Taiwo Awoniyi is currently out injured.

New boss Nuno Espirito Santo will still be analysing and weighing up his Forest side but few could blame him for fancying another goalscorer.

Forest’s transfer plans may have even changed with Nuno coming in to replace Steve Cooper, but one previous target can be ruled out anyway…

Marvin Ducksch transfer stance emerges after Nottingham Forest rumours

Reports from Germany back in November suggested that Forest were showing a keen interest in signing Werder Bremen forward Marvin Ducksch.

It was claimed that a fee of around £13million would be needed for Ducksch after impressing for Werder.

The 29-year-old racked up 12 goals and seven assists last season, striking up a great partnership with Niklas Fullkrug.

Ducksch has continued to shine this season, hitting seven goals and five assists in 16 Bundesliga outings.

A physical presence at 6ft 2in tall, Ducksch has also featured as a left-sided winger at times.

That kind of versatility would be welcomed at Forest but it sounds like Ducksch won’t be on the move

Werder-based side Deich Stube now report that Ducksch will not be on the move in January, completely ruling out a transfer.

As relayed by Inside Futbol, Ducksch doesn’t want to move and potentially impact his chances of playing for Germany at Euro 2024.

The former Borussia Dortmund talent could move in the summer though with a bargain release clause able to be activated at the end of the season.

Forest may keep close tabs on Ducksch and his situation but can seemingly forget about a January move now.
