REPORT: PL rivals is set to move for ‘outstanding’ Wolves star as they lose their top class player

PL rivals is set to move for ‘outstanding’ Wolves star as they lose their top class player

If Wolves raise finances by selling defender Nayef Aguerd, West Ham United may come calling for captain Max Kilman.

The suggestion comes after rumors this week that the Hammers had identified Kilman as a major target.

Kilman, 26, has had a fantastic season at Wolves after taking over the captaincy from the departing Ruben Neves, despite being extensively linked with Napoli in the summer.

Kilman needed some time to adjust to his new role as captain, but he’s been playing exceptionally well at the back in recent weeks alongside Craig Dawson and Toti Gomes.

West Ham are rumored to be interested in the Englishman…

Saudi Club Wants to Sign Morocco's Nayef Aguerd

According to the Guardian, West Ham will make a move for Kilman if Moroccan center-back Aguerd departs the club this month.

Aguerd, a £30 million signing from Rennes, might be gone as David Moyes looks to overhaul his back four. Kilkan has apparently been on the Scot’s radar for some time.

Aguerd has reportedly had offers from the Saudi Pro League since the summer, and he has made a number of mistakes for West Ham this season.

West Ham understands that acquiring Kilman will be challenging. The player recently signed a new long-term contract with Wolves and is clearly an important member of the club and captain.

Not a chance

West Ham should not bother trying to sign Kilman because Wolves are unlikely to sell him this month.

Kilman is a top talent who has previously been regarded as ‘excellent’ by Conor Coady, another former Wolves captain. He is only just entering his prime years and has been a steady member of the Wolves club for the past three years, during which time he has established himself to be a genuinely good, modern-day Premier League centre-half.

He can play in both a back three and a back four, is an excellent ball player, and excels in the air.

Wolves aren’t going to sell their captain in the middle of the season to a Premier League rival, especially with the star having just penned a new deal.

A £40 million offer may ultimately arrive from West Ham, but there is absolutely no way that will even be considered.
