The signing occurs at a time when concerns about Corey Harawira-Naera’splayingcareer remain after an on-field seizure in May of last year.

Joel Carbone, the Canberra Raiders’ director of recruitment, stated, “The Raiders are extremely excited to announce the signing of Zac Hosking.”

“In the short time we’ve known Zac, as well as from watching him play in the NRL over the past few seasons, it’s clear that our club will benefit greatly from his work ethic, skill, and character.

“We’re happy to have him on board because he plays multiple positions in his career and adds versatility to our squad.

“We would like to use this chance to express our gratitude to the Penrith Panthers for their professionalism and openness during this process.”

Before moving on to play for Penrith, Hosking made his Broncos debut in 2022, participating in four games in the first grade.

The eventual premiers featured 21 times for the son of Manly cult figure David “Mule” Hosking, despite his exclusion from the preliminary and grand final sides.

Penrith expressed gratitude to the Newcastle junior for his work at the team.

CEO Matt Cameron stated, “We always knew keeping Zac at the club beyond 2024 would always be an uphill battle after coming to the Panthers and being an integral member of the 2023 squad.”

The club now has the chance to promote someone from within our full-time squad by making this decision.

“We appreciate Zac’s dedication to our club and wish him well in all of his future endeavors.”

On Thursday, March 7, the Raiders travel to Newcastle to start their 2024 campaign.
