The Spaniard, who had inconsistent results at the Gunners, is currently showcasing his managerial abilities in England with Aston Villa. After just eighteen months on the job at the Emirates, Emery was fired and Mikel Arteta was brought in to take his place.

In his lone full season as Arsenal’s manager, Emery lost the Europa League final and failed to place his team in the top four. Despite his difficulties keeping up with the front group in his second term, Emery’s signing Tierney feels the players didn’t live up to his intense efforts on the field.

“I loved working with Unai Emery,” he said to the Irish Examiner. Regretfully, he never received the outcomes he was due. It’s not on him, in my opinion. He gave us everything every day, worked so hard, and in the end, we never received the results.

“Not at all? I would be employed at a higher level in football if I knew that. In football, things don’t always go as planned. Though it was depressing, observe what he accomplished in Spain and his current role at Aston Villa.

After winning titles with Sevilla and PSG prior to joining Arsenal, Emery was able to demonstrate his abilities once more upon joining Villarreal. He won another Europa League with the La Liga team, defeating Manchester United in the championship game, and he later guided them to the final four of the Champions

He is back in the Premier League with Villa, the team he guided to Europe the previous season. With the Midlands team already, he has them in the running for the top four.
