Wolves are reportedly set to engage in another shocking deal

Wolves poised to ‘engage’ with Pedro Neto bids, price tag revealed

Wolves have reportedly revealed Pedro Neto’s price tag this summer, with a record fee expected if clubs want to sign the winger.

Neto has been one of Wolves’ standout performers this season. Despite initial fears of relegation from the Premier League, Gary O’Neil’s team has a chance of qualifying for Europe.

The Portuguese winger has been one of the primary factors driving this achievement. So far this season, Neto has 10 assists and three goals.

This is especially noteworthy given that the 23-year-old missed two months due to an injury.

However, this form generates curiosity. Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool are all interested in Neto.

As the summer approaches, this speculation is unlikely to subside. As a result, Wolves have reportedly set a price for the winger.

Club record bid needed for Pedro Neto

It has become evident that Wolves will not give up Neto without a struggle. While it may be difficult to keep the winger, the club plans to demand a high price in order to even consider proposals.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs of The Dailey Briefing, Wolves will demand up to £80 million for the Portuguese international.

“It’s understood that offers will be engaged with from £65m+, but the final number Wolves are looking for could be as high as £80m,” Jacobs said. “No precise cost is currently being quoted directly to interested clubs.

“The one advantage Arsenal and Spurs may have is that Wolves, like many other Premier League clubs, will be mindful of profit and sustainability guidelines.

“A summer sale is looking quite likely, and along with the two north London clubs, Liverpool can’t be entirely discounted either, but a lot will depend on their new sporting director and manager first.”

If Wolves accept any offers in this area, Neto would become the club’s record departure. Matheus Nunes currently owns the record, following his £53 million move to Manchester City last summer.

While Pedro Neto has been terrific for Wolves, a bid of £80 million would undoubtedly be too much to turn down.

The club has been lacking in squad depth for some years, and O’Neil has received little to no support in the transfer market since joining.

By selling Neto, Wolves will have enough funds to make important acquisitions across the pitch, potentially propelling them into Europe.

The club has already demonstrated this season that it is capable of winning without Neto. When the winger was injured, Wolves won several memorable games. This included victories over Tottenham, Chelsea, and Brentford.

Wolves must also avoid selling its players for less than their peak market value. Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez both left for little to nothing last summer, despite being worth astronomical amounts just a few seasons before.

Given Neto’s dismal injury record, it may be prudent for Wolves to cash in on their prize asset this summer.
