Former DB Wants to Return to Steelers

One former starter is looking for a second run with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PITTSBURGH — Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Eric Rowe is working on a comeback – at least that’s he’s saying on social media.

When asked by a fan on X if he wanted to reutrn to the team, Rowe said he’s “trying to.” The NFL journeyman found his way to the Steelers practice squad last season, and eventually ended the seaosn as a starter at safety due to injuries ans suspensions. During his short time, head coach Mike Tomlin coined the phrase “off the couch,” referring to Rowe and inside linebacker Myles Jack making an impact after signing mid-season.

Rowe, 31, was a second-round pick in 2015 NFL Draft and has started 59 games in his NFL career. Last season for the Steelers, he recorded 29 tackles, one forced fumble, two passes defensed and an interception in three regular season games.
