The Turkey international prop has joined the Black and Whites on a short-term deal and linked up with the squad on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s match at home to Leeds Rhinos.

Aydin’s signing adds further depth to Hull FC’s options in the pack follows second row Ed Chamberlain joining on loan from Leigh Leopards on Tuesday.

Three-quarter Tom Briscoe has also returned to the club on an 18th-month contract as part of a swap deal with Leigh which involved Darnell McIntosh going the other way.

Aydin, 23, can also slot in at loose forward and recently passed 50 career appearances having made his Betfred Super League debut with hometown club Wakefield Trinity in 2020.

Briscoe returns to Hull FC in swap deal

Tom Briscoe is returning to the club he began his Betfred Super League career with after joining Hull FC from Leigh Leopards on an 18-month contract as part of a swap deal.

The three-quarter spent six seasons with the Black and Whites after making his debut in 2008. He then joined Leeds Rhinos where he was part of three Challenge Cup and two Super League Grand Final-winning teams prior to joining Leigh ahead of last season.

Briscoe’s return to the MKM Stadium sees the 34-year-old reunited with former Rhinos team-mate Richie Myler, who was recently appointed Hull FC director of rugby and believes his experience will prove invaluable.

“Bringing Tom back to the club where he made his debut was an easy decision for me,” Myler said. “He’s enjoyed the experience of being in a winning environment over the past decade, and is going to play an integral role in helping develop some of our younger players over the next 18 months.

“As you can see from his past season-and-a-half at Leigh, he is still performing at a consistently high level every time he takes to the field, and I know he will relish the opportunity to pull on a Black and White jersey once more and represent the club where he made his name at the beginning of his career.”

Briscoe’s arrival sees Darnell McIntosh move in the other direction. The 26-year-old back joins the Leopards after making 53 appearances since joining from Huddersfield Giants ahead of the 2022 season.
