BC Lions Sign 8 Players, Including 5 CFL Draft Picks, 1 Global Draft Pick
The BC Lions announced on Tuesday that they have signed 8 players. 5 of the players signed were drafted recently by the Lions in the CFL Draft, including OL George Una, WR Ezechiel Tieide, DB Christophe Beaulieu, LB Terrence Ganyi, and DB Dawson Marchant.
The Lions have also signed kicker Carl Meyer, who they selected in the CFL Global Draft. Additionally the Lions have also signed American defensive back Isaiah Abraham and linebacker KeSean Brown.

BC Lions 2024 CFL Draft Summary
OL George Una, Windsor (25 y/o, 6’3, 300 lbs)
George Una was drafted in the first round, 6th overall, by the BC Lions in the past CFL Draft.
Una was named First Team OUA at guard following the 2023 season. He played in 17 games over the last 2 seasons.
At the CFL Combine, Una ran a 5.3-second 40-yard dash, a 4.76-second shuttle, and a 7.7-second 3-cone drill. He achieved a 27-inch vertical jump, and an 8’9″ broad jump, and completed 24 reps on the bench press (225 pounds).
WR Ezechiel Tieide – Concordia (24 y/o, 6’2, 207 lbs)
Ezechiel Tieide was drafted in the second round 19th overall by the BC Lions in the past CFL Draft. He played his final season with Concordia in 2023 where he caught 28 passes for 471 yards and 6 touchdowns.
At the CFL Combine, Tieide ran a 4.79-second 40-yard dash, a 4.5-second shuttle, and a 7.02-second 3-cone drill. He performed a 30.5-inch vertical jump and a 10’4.5″ broad jump.
DB Christophe Beaulieu – Laval (24 y/o, 6’2, 195 lbs)
Christophe Beaulieu was drafted in the third round 26th overall by the BC Lions in the past CFL Draft. He played in 23 regular season games with Laval over the last 3 seasons. He made 54 solo tackles, 13 assisted tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 3 interceptions, and 13 passes defended over that span. Last season he had 3 interceptions and 13 passes defended over 8 games.
At the CFL Combine, Beaulieu ran a 4.66-second 40-yard dash, a 4.32-second shuttle, and a 6.84-second 3-cone drill. He performed a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10’5.375″ broad jump, and completed 12 reps on the bench press.
LB Terrence Ganyi – Maine (25 y/o, 6’2, 200 lbs)
Terrence Ganyi was drafted in the sixth round 53rd overall by the BC Lions in the past CFL Draft. He played in 10 games with Maine over the 2022 and 2023 seasons recording 12 tackles and 0.5 tackles for a loss.
Ganyi played for Maine in 2018 and 2019 where he made 5 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, and 0.5 tackles for a loss over 13 games. In 2021 he appeared in 1 game with the program.
At the CFL Combine, Ganyi ran a 4.88-second 40-yard dash, a 4.38-second shuttle, and a 7.07-second 3-cone drill. He performed a 29.5-inch vertical jump, and a 9’3.5″ broad jump, and completed 10 reps on the bench press.
DB Dawson Marchant – Northwest Oklahoma State (24 y/o, 6’2, 195 lbs)
Dawson Marchant was drafted in the seventh round 62nd overall by the BC Lions in the past CFL Draft. He played for Northwest Oklahoma State in 2022 and 2023 where he appeared in 21 games. Over that span, he made 43 solo tackles, 17 assisted tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 5 passes defended, and an interception.
He played for Simon Fraser University prior to NW Oklahoma State where he had 27 tackles and 8 passes defended as a true freshman in 2019.
Marchant performed a 31.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10’0.5″ broad jump, and completed 14 reps on the bench press (225 pounds). He also completed a 7-second 3-cone drill and a 4.44-second shuttle. He did not run the 40-yard dash at the CFL Invitational Combine.
K/P Carl Meyer – Jacksonville Sharks (32 y/o, 6’3, 231 lbs)
Carl Meyer was drafted in the first round 6th overall by the BC Lions in the past CFL Global Draft. Meyer is a former professional rugby player who originates from South Africa. He played in 3 regular season games and a playoff game last year in the Indoor Football League with the Jacksonville Sharks. With the Sharks he made 18 of his 21 extra points. Note the IFL field goals are only 10 feet wide compared to the 18 feet and 6 inches of the CFL.
Meyer participated in the CFL Kicking Showcase this offseason where he averaged 51.7 yards per punt with 4.54 seconds of hang time. In the field goal portion, he made his kicks from 30, 34, 40, and 44 yards with misses coming from 48,51, 54, and 57. His kicks from 48 and 54 yards were near misses.
DB Isaiah Abraham – Western Oregon (23 y/o, 6’1, 225 lbs)
Isaiah Abraham played in 44 games with Western Oregon from 2018 to 2023. He recorded 93 solo tackles, 42 assisted tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 6 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 4 passes defended, and an interception with the program. He was First Team All Lone Star Conference in 2023.
LB KeSean Brown – Marshall (6’1, 221 lbs)
KeSean Brown played in 49 games from 2019 to 2022 with Appalachian State with 8 starts in 2022. He recorded 35 solo tackles, 31 assisted tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a pass defended with the program with the majority of his production coming in 2022.
Brown played his final season with Marshall where he played in 10 games with 2 starts in 2023. He made 12 solo tackles, 24 assisted tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks in 2023.
At his pro day in March, he ran a 4.83-second 40-yard dash, a 4.27-second shuttle drill, and a 7.08-second 3-cone drill. He also performed a 35-inch vertical and a 10’02” broad jump.
