Origin and Test star David Fifita has advised the Titans he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Fifita had a clause in his contract to extend his stay on the Gold Coast for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, but the strike second-rower told the Titans he would not be taking up the option.

The Tongan international and Maroons Origin representative has reportedly met with a number of Sydney clubs, with the Panthers confirming their interest.

English star Lewis Dodd is heading down under after signing with the South Sydney Rabbitohs on a three-year deal.

The 22-year-old is considered one of the most promising prospects in the Super League, having led St Helens to the 2021 premiership and kicked the winning field goal to secure a 13-12 victory over the Panthers in the 2023 World Club Challenge.

The halfback has signed with South Sydney on a three-year deal from 2025 that keeps him at the Rabbitohs until the end of the 2027 season.

“Lewis is one of the rising stars in England and he indicated to us that he wanted to test himself in the NRL and the Rabbitohs were the club he wanted to do that with,” Rabbitohs head of football Mark Ellison said.

“He is only 22 years-of-age, but he has already won a Super League Premiership and a World Club Challenge with St Helens and he has all of the attributes that it takes to make it in the NRL.

“Our dealings with him have been first class and we’re looking forward to having him join our Club for the 2025 pre-season. We wish him the best of luck for the remainder of the season with St Helens.”

Meanwhile Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary has announced that he will retire from rugby league at the end of the 2024 NRL season.

Keary made his NRL debut with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 9 of the 2013 season, playing 63 games. Player number 1167 for the Roosters, Keary made his club debut in the opening round of the 2017 season.

To date, he has played 149 NRL games for the Roosters, won two premierships (2018, 2019) and two World Club Challenge titles (2019, 2020). He has also won a Clive Churchill Medal (2018) and was named Player of the Match in the 2020 World Club Challenge.

Broncos hooker Billy Walters has signed a two-year contract extension remain with the club to the end of the 2026 season. Walters has played 36 of a possible 37 games since the start of the 2023 season, crossing for eight tries and joins a host of teammates to commit to the club long-term.

The club have also announced the signing of former Cowboys forward Jack Gosiewski, who was granted an early release from North Queensland on compassionate grounds. Gosiewski appeared in 13 games for the Cowboys after arriving in North Queensland prior to the 2023 season.

North Queensland have agreed to the immediate signing of outside back Braidon Burns on a contract running through the end of the 2025 season.

Wests Tigers have announced the signing of off-contract Penrith winger Sunia Turuva on a three-year deal at the end of the 2024 season.

Dolphins lock Max Plath has signed a contract extension through to the end of 2027 while the club has also announced the signing of back-rower Kulikefu Finefeuiaki from 2025. Finefeuiaki has agreed to a three-year deal with the Dolphins that will allow the Ipswich Jets product to return to south-east Queensland.

The Sea Eagles have announced the release of second-rower Josh Schuster from the final three years of his contract. Signed until the end of 2027, the 22-year-old Manly junior will now explore other opportunities in his career.

Panthers SG Ball halfback Jett Cleary has signed a three-year contract with the Warriors from next season. The 19-year-old son of former Warriors and current three-time premiership-winning Penrith coach Ivan, and brother of Nathan, will join fellow Panther James Fisher-Harris at the club from next season.
