Add a significant name to Nebraska’s weekend’s official visitor list. You’ll have to move the scroll bar to the top of the recruiting rankings on this one.

Five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr. confirmed on social media on Thursday that he’s taking an OV to Nebraska this weekend.

“Excited for my OFFICIAL VISIT this weekend! See you soon,” Sanders posted on X.

The 6-6, 270-pound Sanders, out of Providence Day School in Charlotte, N.C., is rated the No. 2 player in the entire 2025 class by 247Sports.

It’s a high-profile addition for a Husker recruiting weekend that also includes official visits from offensive lineman Broderick Shull (Bixby, Okla.) and edge defender Nicolas Clayton (Gainesville, Fla.).

Sanders was the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year in 2023 as a two-way player for a Providence Day squad that went 12-1 and won a NCISAA Division I state title. He’s been a national recruit since he was starting as a ninth grader.

He had a top six in early March that included Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, Ohio State and Alabama. While Nebraska wasn’t on this, the official visit status always places a program as a contender.
