Club agree to sign £34m Man United player

Birmingham City have agreed to sign Man United sensation Amad Diallo, Football Insider understands.

The Championship club are wrapping up a deal for the winger, 19, after getting the green light from the Premier League giants.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that an agreement has been reached for Diallo to join Birmingham on loan for the rest of the season.

All parties are confident the deal will be completed over the next few days.

Diallo is set to become the third Man United youngster to take what is the increasingly well-trodden path to St Andrew’s.

Teden Mengi completed a loan move to Birmingham earlier this week, while Tahith Cong had made a fine impression at the club earlier in the season.

The Dutchman, 22, made 13 appearances before his season-long loan was cut short in November due to a groin injury that forced him to return to his parent club.

United are keen for Diallo to be playing for a side where he can expect regular first-team football.

Diallo joined Man United in January for a fee of up to £34million including performance-related add-ons.

He signed from Serie A club Atalanta on a deal until 2025 with the option of a further year.

He has made just one senior appearance for United this season and only nine in total since signing

Diallo was hailed for his “speed, vision and fantastic dribbling ability” by ex-manager Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer when he joined from Atalanta.
