On the day of the transfer deadline, Sheffield Wednesday is anticipated to be busy since Jeff Hendrick and Isaac Hayden from Newcastle have been strongly connected to a move to Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday and Isaac Hayden appear to be getting closer to signing a contract. On Tyneside, the Newcastle United midfielder is unquestionably out of favor.

Since December 2021, he has not played a single game for the Magpies. He was loaned out to Norwich City last season, and the Owls are ready to send him out again for the duration of this one. According to reports, Hayden is having a medical, and if all goes well, he will be the 11th summer signing.

Hayden committed to Newcastle with a sizable long-term contract that won’t end until the summer of 2026. It is unknown if the agreement would contain a provision requiring Wednesday to make the change permanent.

The Owls are anticipating a very hectic deadline day. Manager Xisco Munoz is looking for further help to improve a team that has dropped all four of its league games so far this year.

Jeff Hendrick, a teammate of Hayden’s, had also been mentioned as a potential transfer to S6, but things now seem to be quiet. While a number of veteran players are drawing interest from other teams, adding a new forward and even a left-back could also be on the agenda.

Before tonight’s deadline at 11 p.m., Marvin Johnson, who was forced out by Munoz, is the most obvious departure.
