Wolves gets a boost as a key Liverpool player has been barred from playing at Molineux.

Wolves face Liverpool in a week’s time, and they are desperate for points.

Wolves are in a vulnerable position after only three points from their first four games.

They will be heartened, however, by the fact that their only points have come against Merseyside opposition.

However, Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp are a formidable job for any team, which will not inspire Gary O’Neil.

But he has just received a major boost for their next game at Molineux, which might tip the scales.

A key player has been barred from traveling to Molineux.

Virgil van Dijk could face longer suspension following Newcastle red card

Virgil van Djik, Liverpool’s center-half, is one player whose importance has grown over the summer.

As a result, with Liverpool losing him due to suspension, Wolves may have a significant opportunity.

The defender was initially sent off against Newcastle United, causing him to miss Liverpool’s triumph over Aston Villa.

However, an additional game has been added after he admitted to acting in a ‘improper manner’ following his dismissal.

This means he’ll miss his team’s trip to Molineux next weekend.

How valuable is Van Djik to Liverpool?

You may argue that the Reds’ crushing win over Villa proves they don’t rely on him, but this outcome defied the pattern.

Liverpool went winless in the Premier League last season without huge Virgil, resulting in two loses and three draws.

In fact, Liverpool won only two of their ten games without him in all competitions last season.

A penalty shootout triumph against Derby in the League Cup and a 1-0 win over… you guessed it, Wolves at Molineux.

So, while they have a horrible record without him, which didn’t matter much against Wolves, let’s see how this year goes as he joins Trent Alexander-Arnold in missing this one.
