The Red Devils are not expected to persuade midfield maestro Pogba into signing a new contract

The Red Devils are not expected to persuade midfield maestro Pogba into signing a new contract, while Haaland flirts with a move to England and Diallo eyes a loan spell away

Manchester United’s season begins on Saturday as they host old rivals Leeds United and not many people would have expected them to have had a window as successful as this one.

United quickly acted in the transfer market to buy Jadon Sancho for £73million immediately after the European Championships before sending fans wild with the imminent arrival of Raphael Varane.

That is exactly what the Red Devils supporters would have wanted from the club ahead of the new season, with hopes of challenging Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Perhaps the only downside to the transfer window for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been not being able to confirm Paul Pogba’s future at the club, though United are still in the hunt for a midfielder.

Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Man United transfer news below.

Haaland eyeing move to England

United have been given a huge boost in their hopes of signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The Red Devils have been interested in the 21-year-old striker since before his move to Germany but it appeared Chelsea or Manchester City would beat the club to his signature this summer.

Now with Chelsea having signed Romelu Lukaku and City prioritising Harry Kane, they have been handed another boost with Football Daily claiming Haaland is ‘dreaming’ of a move to the Premier League.

Dortmund will keep Haaland this season before selling him next summer, by which point United is expected to be the most suitable destination for the Norwegian.

United dealt Pogba blow

Do you think Paul Pogba will leave Man United for PSG next summer? Let us know in the comments section.

Solskjaer and United are reportedly losing hope of Pogba signing a new deal with the club with his contract up next summer..

The midfield talisman, 28, was linked with a move away to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the transfer window but could stay and instead leave on a free next year.

ESPN claim that the Frenchman may have already made his mind up to leave next summer with the club still awaiting his official decision.

Amad Diallo, 19, is likely to go out on loan this season following the transfer of Sancho, meaning Varane is set to take the winger’s shirt number in his absence.

The former Real Madrid defender signed his contract last night and is officially a United player, though it is unclear whether he will feature against Leeds.
