Manchester United legend Roy Keane has changed his opinion on who will win the Premier League this season.

Chelsea have just snapped up Romelu Lukaku for £97m from Inter Milan to bolster their strikeforce with Thomas Tuchel determined to take the Blues to the next level

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has changed his opinion on who will win the Premier League this season.

It comes after Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea in a club-record £97m deal from Inter Milan.

The Belgium international became the top target at Stamford Bridge after Thomas Tuchel failed to land Erling Haaland.

A striker has always been the main objective over the summer and in Lukaku, Chelsea have got an out-and-out goalscorer.

The 28-year-old netted 30 last season in all competitions as Inter Milan landed their first Serie A title in 10 years but returns to the club he joined first as a teenager.

And Keane reckons the arrival of Lukaku instantly makes the Blues title contenders alongside Liverpool and Manchester City.

He told The Overlap: “You were looking the last year or two going for that out and out goalscorer, but Lukaku gives them a great chance.

“I know Liverpool have a lot of players coming back, but I would still be looking at City and Chelsea.”

His old United teammate Rio Ferdinand agreed, believing Tuchel finally has that focal point that can nudge Chelsea over the line in the Premier League title race.

He told FIVE’s YouTube channel: “They have some fantastic talent up there, an array of talent, they have so many weapons now and I think he’ll be the mainstay.

“Everybody else will be moved about around him but he’ll be the person they look to.

“I am really interested to see how Werner and Havertz feed off him, Mount, giving him the ball, Pulisic and Ziyech.

“It’s going to be mouthwatering. Romelu Lukaku guarantees you 20 goals, minimum. He guarantees you that.”

Chelsea kick off their Premier League campaign this afternoon against Crystal Palace, who have signed plenty of talented youngsters this summer including Marc Guehi from Stamford Bridge, who could make his top-tier debut against his former side.
