During the 2021 summer transfer window, Liverpool were linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Journalist Duncan Castles has recently revealed, as cited by Anfield Buzz’s Twitter account, that the Reds have been monitoring the 25-year-old for over a year.

Bissouma’s contract expires in the summer of 2023. The Mali international possesses a current market value of €25 million.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

There is no denying that Bissouma is a good player. The midfielder averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.98 across the 2020-21 Premier League campaign.

Therefore, we would not be against Liverpool making a move for Bissouma. The Reds are yet to replace midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman departed Liverpool and joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer during the summer.

Bissouma would be a decent replacement for Wijnaldum. The 25-year-old has shown that he is more than capable of playing in the Premier League and he is entering the prime years of his career.

Only time will tell if Liverpool are genuinely interested in Bissouma.
