Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has been closely linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks.

Manchester City are ‘active’ in the race to sign highly rated Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as they continue to search for a new goalscorer.

That is according to a report by Italian media outlet Tuttosport, who claim that City are keeping a close eye on the Serbian international’s development in Serie A.

City, who hammered Club Brugge 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening, were desperate to add a new striker to their ranks during the summer transfer window, following the exit of Sergio Aguero at the end of last season.

However, City, despite pinpointing Tottenham striker Harry Kane as their number one target during the summer, were unable to get a deal over the line, meaning their pursuit for a striker is still ongoing.

City, however, are not the only side reportedly in the running for Vlahovic’s signature, with German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and Italian side Juventus also said to be eyeing up his signature. Spurs have also previously been linked.

Bayern have reportedly have been speaking with his representatives since last year, whereas Dortmund could turn to him if Erling Haaland leaves the club.

The Serbian is out of contract at Fiorentina in 2023 and has already made it clear that he will not sign a new deal, meaning that could bolster City’s chances of landing him in a cut-price deal in 2022.

Meanwhile, City, alongside cross-city rivals Manchester United, are ‘interested’ in signing RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, as cited by Sport Witness.
