Liverpool face Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon as Jurgen Klopp’s side go in search of another three points

Wolves are facing a selection headache ahead of Saturday’s Premier League fixture with Liverpool due to injury issues and positive coronavirus cases.

Bruno Lage was without a number of key players for Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with Burnley, with Willy Boly, Yerson Mosquera, Jonny Castro Otto and Pedro Neto all sidelined through injury.

The West Midlands side were also without forward Daniel Podence and defender Marcal, who were both confirmed to have contracted COVID-19.

Podence has missed the last two games for Wolves after returning a positive test last week, while Marcal was only ruled out of the midweek clash with the Clarets at short notice.

As the number of players unavailable for Liverpool’s upcoming opponents continues to rise, Lage has admitted the current situation is beginning to spiral out of control.

“If I was concerned two weeks ago, you can imagine what I am at this moment,” he told Birmingham Live after Wednesday’s draw.

“Let’s continue, that’s all I can say.

“This is why I said to you that this is the big challenge for us – for me, my staff and the squad – in December and January.

“When you look at our bench in the last game, we don’t have too many solutions. We try to manage the game in a different way.”
