Man United prepare proposal to secure signing of £42.6million player – Report

Manchester United are linked with numerous quality attackers and the latest name in the focus is that of Luis Diaz, who has been in top form for Porto this season.

According to a report covered by Correio da Manha, the Red Devils boss, Ralf Rangnick, wants to sign the Colombian international in the winter transfer window.

The famous Portuguese media outlet have mentioned that Man Utd are preparing a proposal to beat all the competition to secure the signing of the winger.

Diaz’s current contract with the Primeira Liga giants will expire in 2024, CdM claim that it has a huge release clause of 80 million euros but can be lured for cheap following Porto’s exit from the Champions League. Colombian journalist, Pipe Sierra thinks that a fee of 50 million euros (£42.6million) could be enough to sign him.

In the current campaign, so far, the 24-year-old attacker has directly contributed in 14 goals in as many league appearances for the Dragons. On the other hand, he netted 2 goals vs AC Milan in the Europe’s elite competition (group stage).

The 31-capped international was the joint top scorer for his nation (with Messi) in the Copa America (4 goals) last summer.

Man Utd splashed heavy cash to sign a top winger in the form of Jadon Sancho in the last transfer window. The England international has not been at his best but needs time to settle.

Apart from Sancho, Rangnick also has the likes of Lingard, Martial, Rashford, Mata, Greenwood and even Ronaldo who can play in the wide attacking positions. Therefore, in my view, the German boss needs to offload players first before opting to sign another winger.

In your opinion, should Man Utd make a proposal of £42.6million to sign Luis Diaz?
