Thomas Tuchel eyes Borussia Dortmund reunion with £135m transfer star and Christian Pulisic

CareFreeChelsea – Chelsea look to bring in a new forward, but it seems, despite the price tag, he may not be the best fit at the moment.

It seems like Thomas Tuchel really likes the idea of a reunion at Stamford Bridge. He’s been reunited with Christian Pulisic and Thiago Silva so far. One more Tuchel player, and it would be a hat trick.

How about £135.5 million of talented injured goods?

Ousmane Dembele has linked with a move to Chelsea as Barcelona are set to offload several players to fund new transfers.

Chelsea are currently leading the race in getting the Frenchmen’s signature, and whilst I am open to the idea, I empathise with Chelsea’s medical staff. Is this a wise choice for the Blues, considering the multiple injuries that we are currently dealing with?

Chelsea’s attacking options have had struggles of their own in front of goal for the past two seasons. Creativity, end product, and injuries have been the pinnacle of Thomas Tuchel’s issues. Would Ousmane Dembele be the solution to this issue? I am 50/50 on this, to be quite honest.

The 24-year-old is such a talented player – goodness me. He works wonders with both feet and has lightning pace similar to that of Kylian Mbappe. Not to mention his creative eye that we have only seen glimpses of during his time at Dortmund and with the Catalans. I cannot put into words how high his ceiling should be without the unfortunate string of injuries on his record.

It’s a shame how injuries had played a part in his career. Since joining Barcelona in 2017, Dembele has missed 102 games due to injury. Jesus Christ. Christian Pulisic has missed 60 games in his entire senior career due to injury, to put that into context.

Considering how frustrated fans have been with Pulisic’s injury record during his time at Chelsea, I am not so sure that Dembele would be the right option. We need an attacker who is fully fit and ready to put in 100% every single game. We don’t need another extremely talented player that could potentially see our medical staff more than the Stamford Bridge pitch.

Knowing his injury record, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly ready to bring him to the Bridge. It’s pretty peculiar if you ask me, but nowadays, ‘in Tuchel we trust’ is the fan base’s slogan.

In order to fund Dembele’s wage demands of £36m per year, someone has to go. The Chelsea boss already has a platter of players who can play out wide or behind the striker. Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech Callum Hudson-Odoi and of course, Christian Pulisic.
