Dharmesh Sheth has claimed the overall package to sign Liverpool target, Erling Haaland, could cost ‘around £250 million’ in total, as he told the Transfer Show on Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old is set to be one of the hottest properties in the summer, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Liverpool, circling for his goalscoring talents.

At Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has played 79 games in all competitions for the German club, scoring a quite astonishing 80 goals.

That’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi expert level of scoring from the hard-hitting Norwegian.

Haaland also seemingly has a fan in a certain Mo Salah, who is rumoured to be keen on the Dortmund man moving to Merseyside.

There are suggestions that a clause in Haaland’s contract will kick in during the summer transfer window and the buying club will only have to pay £64 million for his talents.

But, according to transfer expert, Sheth, it’s not going to be that easy because when you add in the ‘astronomical’ wages, as well as agent fees, then the deal to sign Haaland may well reach the £250 million mark.

“£64 million is only going to be a small figure in this deal,” said Sheth.

“We are talking about agent fees and astronomical wages for Erling Haaland.

“I have seen estimates that this deal could be worth around £250 million, so that’s how much you would have to outlay to buy Erling Haaland.”

Mino Raiola is Haaland’s agent and he has been pretty clever in how he has outlayed Haaland’s contract.

When teams look at the transfer clause they have to pay for the player, then they will all jump at the chance to sign him.

But this then provides Raiola with the opportunity to demand such ridiculous money in added bonuses or anything else related to the deal.

And whilst on paper, that suggested £64m fee may not look like much in footballing terms, it will definitely end up being a stupid amount whoever signs him up.
