‘No interest’: Romano claims £97m player is going to snub chance to move to Arsenal on deadline day

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ousmane Dembele has “no interest” in joining Arsenal as part of the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang deal.

The Gunners striker is reportedly in Barcelona ahead of a proposed loan move from the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are yet to agree a deal with Barca over Aubameyang, however – the financial aspects are yet to be sorted.

Meanwhile, Dembele doesn’t appear to have much of a future at his current club as his contract runs down.

According to The Independent, Barca have offered Arsenal the chance to snap up the France international.

However, Romano has now reported that Dembele doesn’t seem keen on linking up with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.

Here’s what he wrote on Twitter on the Dembele to Arsenal speculation:

It was previously reported that intermediaries working on a deal involving Aubameyang and Barcelona had suggested a swap.

Meanwhile, it was subsequently reported that Arsenal made contact with Dembele when it became clear that he was planning to leave the club.

At the weekend, Marca reported that the 24-year-old’s agent has been looking in the English market for a solution.

He considers the Premier League a good move for the player, added the report.

Dembele joined Barca to much fanfare in 2017, arriving from Borussia Dortmund for a reported £97million.

His release clause is a staggering 400 million euro (£334million), testament to how high expectations were of him.

However, Dembele’s time at the club hasn’t been smooth sailing amid a myriad of injury troubles.

He has made 129 Azulgrana appearances during that time, with just six starts this season.

As per Sky Sports, Dembele’s representatives recently met with the Barca hierarchy for further talks over his future.

Barca reportedly reiterated that, if he doesn’t sign the deal already offered, then he must find another club to buy him.

While there seems to be a good chance Dembele will be in the Premier League soon, it doesn’t look like it’ll be with Arsenal.
