Arsenal player set to have medical at 4pm – Gunners pushing for clause in dea

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s potential transfer to Barcelona looks like it’s going to be the big late drama of the window.

Over the weekend there were repeat claims in the Spanish media that the move could happen, with the Arsenal striker willing to take a huge pay cut to see the deal go through. Without the exit of Ousmane Dembele, that was the only way the Catalan side could conclude things.

Then on Monday, the Gunners man showed up at Barcelona airport, which gave the impression everything was agreed. Then claims started to come from the Catalan media about the Blaugrana knowing nothing of Aubameyang’s trip, and that they hadn’t asked him to travel.

Spanish journalist Adria Albets now reports the Arsenal player will have a Barcelona medical at 5pm today, which will be Spanish time, so 4pm UK. If he passes that, and resolves ‘economic differences’ with Barcelona then the transfer can happen.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo are reporting the player is willing to accept €100k a week. It’s also stated Arsenal are pushing for a mandatory purchase clause in the loan deal.
