Aubameyang first league start performance for Barcelona

Aubameyang gets hat-trick on first league start for Barcelona as Pedri’s goal is re-awarded

Valencia at the Mestalla is always a tough game, not for Xavi, though, who could not have coached a better win against Los Che. The Blaugranes scored three in the first half alone, and ended the game with a 1-4 scoreline.

Two of those goals came from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the first half, who showed his seasoned off-the-ball movement and finishing in front of the goal. Frenkie de Jong and Pedri were on the scoresheet as well, but the latter’s goal has now been chalked off and given to Aubameyang instead.

Pedri came on in the 60th minute, and was given the invitation to shoot when Omar Alderete’s interception on Ferran Torres found its way to him. The midfielder did not hesitate, and let one out, and it crashed into the roof of the not.

It did, however, as one suspected, take a deflection off Aubameyang’s back, changing the direction. The referee, in his post-game report, decided it was strong enough to award to the Gabonese striker.
