Reported Liverpool target Arnaut Danjuma believes that he is one of the best wingers in world football, on par with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

In an interview with the Guardian, the Villarreal star claimed that he is confident in achieving great things in his career, with Danjuma also believing that he is already one of the best wingers in the world.

As per the Athletic, Liverpool is interested in signing Danjuma, who has a reported release clause of €75m (£63m), with the Dutch international viewed by some as a potential successor to the likes of Salah and Mane at Anfield.

Both wingers have their deals expiring in 2023, and neither Salah nor Mane are any closer to signing new contracts with Liverpool, despite their importance to the squad and the club as a whole.

Indeed, Luis Diaz was signed in January as a long-term option to succeed the Liverpool superstars, with the Colombian international landing on Merseyside like he had played at the club for years. And for Danjuma, he believes he could be on par with the Premier League superstars.

The former AFC Bournemouth star said: “If we look at what I’ve done this season it’s quite fair and factual to say I’m among the best wingers in the world. To be the best, you need to aim for more, and there’s so much I still want to achieve.”

Confidence can either make a player loved by supporters or loathed by others, yet in Danjuma’s case, labeling himself as one of the best in the world will win him fans at Liverpool should the reds make a move for the winger this summer.

With Salah and Mane’s futures on the ropes, the Villarreal star could be an ideal replacement to partner Diaz on the opposite wing. And Danjuma’s comments on being the best will be something Liverpool fans and the club themselves might take as a positive sign.
