Liverpool set to make offer – £72m hitman wants £300,000 per week and would be highest-paid at the club

Liverpool is set to make a contract offer to Sadio Mane this summer and the player reportedly wants as much as £300,000 per week which could complicate matters.

The Senegal attacker has reaffirmed his importance to Liverpool despite turning 30 last month. Nobody has more goals for the Reds in 2022 as he has shifted up a gear this year.

According to 90Min, Liverpool has told the clinical forward that he can expect a contract offer but will have to wait until the end of the season to receive one.

The Reds will make a contract offer to Mane in the summer as they are chasing a quadruple and distractions at this stage would not help anybody.

Mohamed Salah is also in a contract standoff with FSG who are in a tricky position due to the attacker’s ages but they’re unlike any other players at the club.

Mane is reportedly not making demands “as drastic as those coming from Salah’s camp, though he is looking for a raise on his current terms.”

Graeme Bailey reports Mane wants between £250,000 and £300,000 per week to renew with Liverpool before his contract expires at the end of next season.

That would make him the highest-earning player at the club but if Salah agrees a new contract with Liverpool, that would likely outstrip Mane’s potential new deal.

Given that Mane has scored 11 goals in 2022 alone after being moved to a false nine role, it’s clear that he is not finished at this level and should be able to continue making a major impact for the Reds.

FSG have a big next few months on their hands as they also look to reinforce Jurgen Klopp’s squad even more after they signed Luis Diaz in January.

The Colombian has been nothing short of sensational since his move to Anfield and if the Reds can sign reinforcements that match his impact, Liverpool should be able to continue the scintillating football they have put on display in 2022.
