Liverpool has long been linked with Marco Asensio, and the Spanish international is back in the spotlight.

According to Mundo Deportivo (news image below), the La Roja playmaker does not rule out leaving for free in 2023, but Real Madrid does not want that.

Los Blancos have offloaded a number of players whose contracts have expired, but given Asensio’s age of 26, a Bosman transfer should be avoided.

As a result, the La Liga giants may be willing to sell him this summer, and clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, and Juventus are interested in hiring him.

Sport reported in March that the Reds are one of the frontrunners in the race to sign the 28-cap international.

Now, according to MD, Klopp has been interested in Marco Asensio for a long time and would undoubtedly move in to finally sign him if he is put ‘in range.’

In terms of asking price, the European Champions could demand around 60 million euros, or £51.2 million (Sport).

Asensio has never been able to consistently start for Real Madrid, and he was in and out of the starting lineup even last season under Ancelotti. He must play consistently in order to be named to Spain’s World Cup squad.

The versatile star can play anywhere in the attacking midfield, but he is naturally a right winger. Salah is the first-choice right-winger at Anfield and is irreplaceable in the squad. So, in my opinion, moving to Liverpool would be unsuitable for the Spaniard.

If Sadio Mane leaves, Klopp will undoubtedly need to bolster the depth of his wide attacking positions. The Senegalese can play on either flank and has also proven to be effective in the CF position.
