Should Arteta sign the Manchester City striker who wants to join Arsenal?

In a recent report, The Daily Star revealed that Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is keen on a move to Arsenal this summer. It has been claimed that the Brazilian attacker is open to joining the Gunners over Tottenham Hotspur in this off-season.

Jesus’ Excellent Vein Of Form At Manchester Last Season

Jesus had a brilliant season at the Etihad Stadium as he managed to put several fruitful displays for Man City in the final third. The 25-year-old made 41 appearances for the Mancunian giants in the previous campaign, netting 13 goals and grabbing 12 assists across all competitions.

The Brazil international proved himself to be a valuable presence in the opponent’s half after he averaged 2.3 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He even distributed the ball really well in the attacking end of the field as he completed 84.8% of his attempted passes in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Snap Jesus Up This Summer?

Jesus has proven his worth as a decent finisher in front of the opposition goal and can make some clever turns inside the penalty box to get a few strikes in at goal. The Brazil international is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can even engineer some meaningful openings for his teammates up top.

Following Fabio Viera’s arrival from FC Porto recently, someone of Jesus’ skillset will be a great acquisition for the Gunners as they look to build a strong squad capable of a top-four challenge in the Premier League next season.

At 25, the 56-time Brazil international has got enough experience in English football by now and wouldn’t take much time to settle into Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta‘s style of play at the Emirates Stadium.

Therefore, the North London giants would be wise to orchestrate a move to snap Jesus up ahead of the new campaign as he will undeniably improve the quality of their attack for the long run.
