Despite Jude Bellingham’s wage demands being a “possible stumbling point,” Liverpool is “extremely intrigued” in signing him.
Following his £22 million transfer from Birmingham to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020, Bellingham has distinguished himself as one of Europe’s elite players.
He is currently a vital member of Gareth Southgate’s England team, and the Premier League has been widely linked to him.
Because they don’t want to lose another one of their great players in the same transfer window after Erling Haaland moved to Manchester City, Dortmund is reportedly planning to keep him on for another season.
The Athletic’s James Pearce has reported that Liverpool are’very interested’ in the 19-year-old, whose asking price is £103 million.
Although Bellingham now has three years left on his BVB contract, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United are also interested in signing him. Bellingham is anticipated to leave the BVB next summer.
Liverpool will undoubtedly be mentioned, and Bellingham’s close rapport with captain Jordan Henderson stems from their time playing for England.
I don’t believe the price would deter Liverpool because the player in question might serve as the focal point of their midfield for a decade. The wage expectations, though, can be a possible roadblock.
Fabio Carvalho, who transferred from Fulham to Liverpool this summer, claims he didn’t “require any persuasion” to do so.
