Due to a serious injury to a midfielder, Liverpool could sign a £31 million deal before the September 1st deadline.

Liverpool’s summer transfer business has been astute, and they may be about to add to it once more.

The Premier League transfer window closes on Thursday, September 1st at 11 p.m.

As of now, their summer transfer activity is complete, but a serious injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain during pre-season could force their hand.

Despite having a fairly stacked midfield roster, the Reds have been linked with a move for a midfielder all summer.

However, given the severity of the injury, they may rush to sign a replacement before the window closes.

Despite links to Jude Bellingham, Matheus Nunes, and Nicolo Barella, a new target has emerged in the form of Inter Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu.

Fans will recall his performances against Liverpool in the Champions League last season.

He was one of the few players capable of driving Milan up the field and was impressive on the ball throughout the two-leg tie.

What you may not know is that Calhanoglu was responsible for one of the best free kicks of all time, a 41-meter knuckleball strike that is absolutely out of this world.

According to Caliciomercatoweb, Klopp is looking to ‘fish in Italy’ for a replacement, and Calhanoglu is definitely a target.

Inter Milan signed Calhanoglu on a free transfer after four years at AC Milan, according to Transfermarkt.

He has played almost anywhere from central midfield to a false nine, but he was mostly used as a central midfielder with the freedom to roam and express himself.

Last season, he had 13 assists and eight goals in all competitions in an impressive campaign, and he would bring a new dynamic to Liverpool’s midfield.
