Liverpool are ready to offer a new contract to the 19-year-old player.

Liverpool is ready to reward 19-year-old Harvey Elliott with a new contract at Anfield, despite the fact that he only signed new terms a year ago, with Red’s boss Jurgen Klopp keen to extend his young midfielder’s stay beyond 2026.

Liverpool is set to offer Harvey Elliott a new long-term contract as a reward for his progress since breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s first team.

The 19-year-old signed his most recent contract with the club just a year ago, but he will now be given a new one as Liverpool seeks to commit the attacker to a longer stay at Anfield.

His current five-year contract keeps him at Liverpool until 2026, but the new agreement will both extend his commitment and increase his weekly salary.

With the new Premier League season underway, Elliott, an attacking midfielder who can also play on the wing, will be vying for a starting spot in the Merseyside club’s midfield.

Thiago Alcantara’s hamstring injury has given Elliott the opportunity to establish himself in the club’s winning midfield alongside captain Jordan Henderson and Brazilian stalwart Fabinho.

The injury also provides an opportunity for new signing Fabio Carvalho, as well as veteran James Milner, to force their way into Klopp’s plans.

He was initially loaned back to Fulham before being loaned out again to Championship side Blackburn.

Elliott was impressed in only 41 games for his loan club before returning to Liverpool at the start of last season, scoring seven goals and registering 11 assists.

Elliott’s career was nearly cut short last season due to a horrific tackle involving Leeds’ Pascal Struijk, which resulted in him requiring ankle surgery.

Elliott completed his remarkable comeback to help Liverpool finish the season with Carabao Cup and League Cup victories.
