Gomez began his career at Barcelona’s La Masia academy before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2018 before moving on to Anderlecht.
There have been suggestions that City could loan Gomez out, but no final decision has been made.
Pep Guardiola frequently uses Joao Cancelo at left-back, but the departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal has left City short on back-up options in that position.
He worked with former City defender Vincent Kompany, who is now in charge of Burnley, while at Anderlecht.
