Tottenham could still try to sign the £34 million playmaker this summer; his agents are currently in London.

Tottenham Hotspur is interested in Lyon playmaker Lucas Paqueta, who West Ham United wants to sign.

According to the Express, the Hammers made a £34 million bid for the midfielder, but it was rejected.

It is not clear how much Lyon is willing to accept the Brazilian, but his agents want him to move to the Premier League this summer.

They are in London right now in case West Ham has a bid accepted and of course, that would place them well to get to Tottenham if they were the ones who stumped up the cash.

Tottenham want Paqueta

The report says that Spurs could well look into the transfer market to replace Bryan Gil, who is set to leave the club on loan.

Paqueta could well be an upgrade and looks to have the quality it takes to adjust quickly to life in the Premier League.

The price would have to be right for Tottenham, who have already spent big on a number of players this summer.

The report says that West Ham has had the most serious discussions but other talks have taken place with other Premier League clubs.

And Paqueta’s agents are confident that they will move their man to the English top flight before the transfer window slams shut.

Fabio Paratici is apparently a huge fan of the midfielder but it remains to be seen whether he will bring him to north London or watch as he goes to West Ham.
