‘Definitely interested,’ a journalist says of the 21-year-old, who would cost’silly money.’

Dan Kilpatrick discussed Anthony Gordon on the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel, amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the Everton ace.

The Toffees’ jewel has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, with the Blues submitting multiple bids for the attacker recently. However, Kilpatrick claims that Spurs are still monitoring his situation after being linked earlier this summer.

However, Tottenham was deterred after initial conversations with Everton as the Merseyside club told Spurs that Gordon would cost them ‘silly money.

WHAT’S BEEN SAID?

Kilpatrick shared what he knew about Gordon’s situation.

“He was a player that Spurs were definitely interested in and are still keeping an eye on the situation for sure. He was someone that Spurs and Chelsea think can play as a wing-back or as a forward. The feeling within Spurs earlier in the window when they spoke to Everton about Richarlison was that Everton would want silly money for him and that they were reluctant to lose him because of the message that would send to their fanbase,” Kilpatrick said.

SILLY MONEY

Kilpatrick says that Gordon would cost silly money, and he’s right. You have to be very silly to pay the £60m that Everton is quoting for the Englishman.

Yes, he’s a youngster with a lot of potentials, but let’s be real, any attacker with four senior league goals to his name is never in a million years worth that much.

Spurs think that he could play as a wing-back, which is an interesting point to make, but why would you spend so much money on a young player to use him in a position he’s never played before?

Gordon may be on the Spurs’ radar, but they’d have to be pretty daft to cough up the cash necessary to go and sign him.
