Yves Bissouma of Tottenham Hotspur and Emmanuel Adebayor of Chelsea appear to have caught up last night, as the two exchanged messages on Instagram.

Adebayor spent his best years at Tottenham’s archrival Arsenal, but he played for Tottenham for four seasons between 2011 and 2015. Adebayor is a hero on his home continent and an inspiration to many African footballers, including Bissouma.

Spurs signed Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion this summer for an initial fee of £25 million (BBC).

The Mali international has been one of the most impressive midfielders in the Premier League over the last few years. He has been linked with a move to a number of top clubs, but it’s Tottenham who managed to get the deal over the line in the summer transfer window.

Bissouma really is a sensational signing for Tottenham.

The Mali international was arguably Brighton’s best player during his time there. He’s brilliant in possession, protects the backline really well, can progress the ball forward, and he’s not even in his prime yet.

Under a manager like Antonio Conte, he has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and Spurs will then become a more difficult side to beat than they already are.

Bissouma has only started one game for Tottenham so far, but we’re sure he’ll be a regular for them very soon.
