The former Burnley manager has been named as a possible option for Leicester City should a change be made.

Sean Dyche is ‘holding out for a Premier League job, despite links to Leicester City.

Since the start of the season, the former Burnley manager has been linked with a number of jobs, as a number of clubs have already decided to make a change at the top. One of the most recent is West Bromwich Albion, who announced Steve Bruce’s departure on Monday.

Dyche was among the first names mentioned. According to the Mirror, he was left off the shortlist for the position because he is “holding out for a Premier League job.”

The news comes as City manager Brendan Rodgers faces renewed scrutiny at the King Power Stadium following the club’s seventh defeat of the season. Despite trailing 1-0 to Bournemouth, the Cherries scored two second-half goals to win the game.

The result, combined with Nottingham Forest’s draw against Aston Villa on Monday night, leaves City with just four points at the bottom of the table. Some sections of the away end demanded that a change be made after the final whistle at the Vitality Stadium.

Earlier this season, amid the pressure on Rodgers, there was speculation that Dyche could be one of the club’s options if they decide to change in the coming weeks. Since leaving Burnley at the end of last season, the manager has been unemployed.

Earlier this month, the manager said he would wait and see if a Premier League opportunity arises. “It’s fair to say I’ve got a decent bank of knowledge, that I think I could offer something, so therefore, I’ll have a window to wait and see,” he told Kammy & Ben’s Proper Football Podcast.

“We’ll wait and see, but I think I’ve afforded a window to have a look and see if anyone wants to take me in the Premier League.”
