The latest Leicester City news is that a trip to London near the end of the season may have to be rescheduled.
Leicester City’s trip to Fulham towards the end of the season might have to be rearranged after it was confirmed that the Coronation of King Charles III will take place on the same day – Saturday 6 May.
A statement on the Royal website read: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023.
“The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.
“The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry. Further details will be announced in due course.”
The details are expected to outline what we can expect with regard to sporting events taking place that weekend.
The DCMS (Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport) has already stated that it is too early to offer any guidance for supporters, but discussions are set to take place over the next few weeks.
The city is set for the biggest international break next month when the World Cup takes place in Qatar; the break between mid-November and Boxing Day means that the domestic fixture list is set to be even more congested than normal in 2023.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will still have three league games remaining after their trip to Craven Cottage, with the top-flight fixture schedule running all the way through to the end of May.
