REPORT: AFTER APPROACHES FROM CRYSTAL PALACE AND EVERTON, A £30M MAN NOW WISHES TO RIP UP HIS CONTRACT

According to AS, Ayoze Perez is willing to terminate his Leicester contract following approaches from Crystal Palace and Everton.

CRYSTAL PALACE & EVERTON WANTED PEREZ

Well, the Spanish news outlet believes both the Eagles and the Toffees tried to sign the 29-year-old back in the summer, while Fulham also submitted a proposal.

Perez rejected the Premier League trio, but he is now willing to rip up his contract at the King Power stadium, and also give up half of his salary, in an attempt to complete a move back home to Spain.

Brendan Rodgers has barely used the Spaniard so far this season, handing him just one Premier League start and 124 minutes of action in total.

Given the fact Leicester spent £30m to sign him from Newcastle in 2019, it has been disappointing to see him fizzle out in this manner.

AS add that Perez was actually offered a new three-year contract by the Foxes, with his current terms set to expire in July.

However, Leicester No.17 rejected the offer, as he is fixated on returning to Spain when his contract expires.

BETTER OPTIONS FOR CRYSTAL PALACE & EVERTON

In our view, there are better forwards out there for Patrick Vieira and Frank Lampard.

Even when he was a regular in the Leicester lineup, Perez was far from prolific – his best goalscoring campaign in the Premier League for the Foxes came in 2019/20 when he scored just eight goals.

One alternative for Crystal Palace and Everton is Ben Brereton Diaz.

The Sun believes both the Eagles and the Toffees want to sign the Chile international, who scored 22 goals in the Championship last season – he also sees his contract expire in July.

Aside from Diaz, there are many better alternatives for Crystal Palace and Everton to pursue than Perez.
