Check out the three signings Tottenham Hotspur want in January

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is said to want the club to bring in three new players during the January transfer window.

The Lilywhites manager brought in seven new players in his first summer transfer window, with six arriving permanently and Clement Lenglet joining on loan from Barcelona.

Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma, and Destiny Udogie have all signed permanent deals with the club, though the former is still on loan at Udinese.

Despite their significant summer spending, Conte has repeatedly stated that his team requires multiple transfer windows to compete for the Premier League title.

Furthermore, Forster and Spence have yet to get a chance to impress Conte, while Richarlison is currently out with a calf injury and has yet to score a Premier League goal for the club.

According to Football Insider, the Italian is eager to bring in several new faces in January, and Daniel Levy has given the green light for a number of new signings to arrive in January.

According to the report, Conte is looking for a striker, a midfielder, and a versatile defender to bolster his squad in the middle of the season, after being short on attacking options in recent weeks.

With Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski out injured, Conte has either used a 3-5-2 formation or – on rare occasions – relied on Lucas Moura, with Bryan Gil limited to substitute appearances.

Richarlison is expected to return before the World Cup, but Kulusevski’s hamstring injury may prevent him from playing for Tottenham until December.

Having been given the green light by Levy, Fabio Paratici is now said to be putting plans in place for a busy January window, and Tottenham has every confidence in the director’s knowledge of the transfer market and wide range of contacts.

Tottenham dipped into their war chest in January to sign Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur on loan from Juventus, and both players made an immediate impact on the side.

Conte’s side edged out Arsenal to qualify for the Champions League thanks to the efforts of Kulusevski and Bentancur, the latter of whom scored a 92nd-minute winner in Saturday’s 3-2 comeback win over Bournemouth.

Conte has, however, stated that his team requires improvement, telling reporters earlier this month: “My only concern at the moment is that we keep our fingers crossed that there are no injuries because we do not have the depth of squad to compete in competitions like the Premier League and Champions League.

“At the start of this season, I told you that we needed to take it slowly, have patience, and have two or three transfer markets to bring this squad to be competitive in two competitions like the Premier League and the Champions League.”

Tottenham is third in the Premier League table after coming back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Bournemouth. They now prepare for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Marseille, where a point would be enough to secure qualification for the knockout stages.
