Antonio Conte wants to bring in a ‘extraordinary’ player for £100,000 per week, according to reports.

According to CMW, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte wants to sign Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko in the summer of 2023.

According to the report in the Italian news outlet, Conte has identified Dzeko as a target for Tottenham if Kane leaves at the end of the season or as competition for him if he stays at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Dzeko, a former Manchester City striker who earns just over £100,000 per week (Transfermarkt) net at the moment, is out of contract at Conte’s former club Inter at the end of the season.

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur is unlikely to sign Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko on a free transfer next summer, especially as Harry Kane’s replacement.

If Kane does leave Spurs, then the North London club is surely going to sign a striker who is much younger than Dzeko and is at the top of his game right now.

Dzeko is 36 at the moment and will turn 37 in March 2023.

There is no way that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will sign a 37-year-old striker to replace or compete with Kane, even one who has been described as “an extraordinary player” by Paolo Di Canio in AreaNapoli in September 2020.

Conte and Levy will surely find other options.
