Report: £100 million Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur target could leave in January after being booed by his own fans

Rumored Manchester United and Tottenham target Tammy Abraham could reportedly leave AS Roma in January after the striker was booed off the pitch this Sunday by his own fans in a 1-1 draw against Torino.

According to CalcioMercato, the Serie A side could consider selling Abraham in the new year if a good offer comes in for the England international, with Tottenham and United both interested in signing the former Chelsea star, who the Daily Mail stated is valued by Roma at £100m.

Abraham was one of the best strikers in Europe last season as the striker led Roma to the UEFA Europa Conference League. However, this season has been a different story, with the attacker struggling for form and missing out on a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

With Jose Mourinho even criticizing Abraham this weekend after Roma’s 1-1 result against Torino, the prospect of Abraham leaving the Giallorossi in January could actually be on the table. Yet with interest from two top Premier League sides Tottenham and United, a deal could happen in the coming weeks.

Indeed, whilst Antonio Conte might fail to justify signing a top striker, Erik Ten Hag has the perfect excuse to move for Abraham given the recent fallout with Cristiano Ronaldo, who this week has stunned the footballing world with his explosive interview that has all-but ruined his reputation at Old Trafford.

Although Abraham’s form might raise some eyebrows, there’s no denying that United needs a new striker in the door as soon as possible. And with Roma now softening their stance on their star attacker, the Red Devils would be wise to pounce at the opportunity.

The prospect of Abraham leaving Roma has seemingly increased over the past few weeks, with the striker’s form now evolving from a blip to problematic as supporters are now getting on the forward’s back. Yet for United, this could be as good a time as any to sign the attacker to solve their issues.
