Tottenham player may leave despite being offered new contract; Premier League rival wants him on free.

Tottenham Hotspur could lose youngster Nile John, according to Football London, with Brighton among a number of clubs interested in the teenager.

In North London, John’s future is uncertain. His contract will be terminated at the end of the campaign.

Football London reports that he has been offered a new deal. However, it seems that he has a host of admirers across Europe, who hoping to land him in the coming months.

Brighton interested in Nile John

In fact, one of those is a Premier League rival. According to Football London, Brighton is keen on the midfielder. Meanwhile, Basel and Cercle Brugge also have their eye on John.

Obviously, Tottenham may be powerless to stop the teenager from leaving. And John will be weighing up whether he is better off moving on or staying put.

As noted by Football London, the pathway to the first team for those in the academy appears to be a lot more congested under Antonio Conte.

In fact, no player under the age of 22 has started a Premier League game for Tottenham so far this season.

Of course, Conte will have faith in what he is doing. Spurs sit inside the top four in the Premier League. And they are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, their pursuit of progress may come at a cost if some of their better youngsters are considering their future.

Admittedly, a difficult loan spell at Charlton last season may have seemed ominous for John.

But the amount of interest in him now tells its own story. He is clearly a very bright talent. And he could have a big future ahead.

The spurs can only do so much at this stage. Should he decide to move on, they will be unable to stop him. But there is no doubt that plenty of fans will be disappointed should he leave.
