Tottenham Hotspur is among the clubs interested in Sporting right-back Pedro Porro, according to a report in the Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias.

Porro has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting right-sided players. During his two years on loan with the Portuguese club, he scored nine goals in all competitions.

His move from Manchester City became permanent in the summer. But perhaps it may not be too long before he is on the move once again.

But they go on to add that Tottenham is also keen on the youngster. He has a release clause worth around £40 million in his contract. And any side wanting to sign him will reportedly have to go close to that figure.

Spurs fans will be desperately hoping that there is something in the reports linking them with Porro. The right wing-back position has been a big issue for Antonio Conte’s side this season.

Emerson Royal has had an absolutely torrid time of late. And it does appear that Conte is not doing the Brazilian any favors by continually picking him.

It would seem that he is not convinced by Matt Doherty or Djed Spence. And with that, he has stuck by Emerson.

However, there have been reports from 90min that Tottenham is ready to sell Emerson in January. And you would imagine that they would jump at the chance to make some of their money back on the former Barcelona player.

The wing-backs are so important to Conte’s system. And Porro would be a fantastic signing. Jermaine Jenas labeled him ‘different class‘ when Spurs faced Sporting in the Champions League this season.

Perhaps that display paved the way for Tottenham to look at a potential transfer.
