Manchester City’s star has urged Real Madrid’s transfer target to join him at the Etihad.

Jude Bellingham was one of the standout performers as England defeated Iran 6-2 to kick off their World Cup campaign.

The Englishman scored the game’s first goal and ran the show in the middle of the park with style. The performance demonstrated the youngster’s talent and has put a number of clubs on high alert once more.

According to Ben Jacobs, Borussia Dortmund is prepared to lose Bellingham in the near future. Although several clubs have tried to push for a move in the upcoming January transfer window, Dortmund is planning a summer exit for their prized midfield asset.

Jacobs adds that Real Madrid is among the frontrunners in the race to sign Bellingham, along with Liverpool. But Manchester City is also thought to be in contention to sign the Englishman, who may plan to join a club that can offer him regular Champions League.

Man City may even have a slight advantage in the contest due to the presence of Erling Haaland. The young Norwegian was one of Bellingham’s close friends during their time together at Dortmund. In fact, Jacobs claims Haaland has already urged Bellingham to join Man City.

Real Madrid, though, remains pretty much in the contest. They can offer an exciting sporting prospect for the youngster, especially with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos nearing the end of their long spells at Santiago Bernabeu.

Borussia Dortmund, for their part, has hinted that they will start negotiating Bellingham’s future soon after the World Cup. The player was thought to be valued at around €100 million, but clubs like Real Madrid now realize the Englishman could cost significantly more than that mark.

A lot could be clarified after the ongoing World Cup, as far as Bellingham’s future is concerned.
