Leicester City will use their own player plus €20 million to persuade the club to sign a player in January.

Leicester City has ‘stepped in’ to sign Fenerbahçe’s Attila Szalai in the winter market.

That’s according to Fanatik, who says the Foxes could use Çağlar Söyüncü as part of the deal to convince the Turkish club to sanction Szalai’s sale.

Jorge Jesus wants a new center-back in January, but his side must be wary of the possibility of losing Szalai after Leicester showed interest in him.

Over at the King Power Stadium, the report explains that Brendan Rodgers has also asked for reinforcements in the heart of the defense for the second half of this season and the 24-year-old is the first name on the Foxes’ target list.

Leicester has a €20m budget for the Hungary international and is expected to arrive at the negotiating table in a short time to try to close his signing. The report says they want him and will try different ways to get approval from the Süper Lig side for the transfer.

The Premier League club could offer €20m plus Söyüncü on loan until the end of this season in exchange for Szalai, and this may be the formula to convince Fenerbahçe to say ‘yes’ to the sale of the Hungarian.
