Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Evan Ndicka for several months.

Foot Mercato reported in June that Spurs were leading the race for the 23-year-old defender.

Despite the fact that Ndicka stayed put past the summer, Tottenham is reportedly still interested in the 6ft 3in the powerhouse.

According to Roma Giallorossa, Jose Mourinho wants Ndicka to bolster his backline.

However, Roma appears to be trailing Spurs in the race to sign the Frenchman.

Newcastle United and AC Milan are also said to be eyeing Ndicka.

With the January transfer window on the horizon, Spurs could well look to make a move this time.

Tottenham has been decent in the first half of the season, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Antonio Conte could certainly look to bolster his defensive ranks, as they’ve let him down far too often.

And Nick is definitely a good shout for the Lilywhites.

‘Extremely goal-threatening’

Despite his young age, he already has over 150 appearances for Frankfurt in all competitions.

Indeed, his efforts helped the club win the Europa League last season.

And this term, Frankfurt is in the Champions League last 16.

Nick is incredibly talented, physically imposing, and can play at left-back as well as center-back.

And then there’s his impressive goal-contribution tally.

In May, journalist Christopher Michel told Chronicle Live: “For a central defender, Ndicka is extremely goal-threatening.

“He has 10 goals and 9 assists in 135 competitive games. That’s enormous.

“His opening with his left foot is good, he is strong with his header and fasts.

“His big weakness is that he sometimes switches off too early and recognizes dangerous moments too late.

“But Ndicka brings an exciting complete package. A great defender!”

Better yet, Ndicka may be available for a bargain fee.

Italian outlet Calciomercato. it – via Sport Witness – looked at the player’s future amid interest from Serie A.

AC Milan and Juventus have reportedly made contact about a deal for Ndicka, whose contract expires next summer.

They apparently learned that Frankfurt’s initial request would be for €10-12m (£8.7m-10.4m).

However, a deal could be closed at €8-9m (£6.9m-7.9m).
