The German FA is waiting for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to respond to the Manager position after passing over Thomas Tuchel.
Since Hansi Flick’s side exited the FIFA World Cup Group Stage, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the position of German FA Coach. Die Mannschaft believes Thomas Tuchel is unsuitable for the job and has not looked beyond Klopp.
Liverpool Echo reported that German FA president Bernd Neuendorf believes that nobody suits the job better than Klopp and Tuchel would be his second choice as the German manager.
However, Liverpool fans would be reluctant to let go of the person that has brought them so much success in recent years. Moreover, the Liverpool gaffer’s agent came out with a statement that the German international will fulfill his contract in Merseyside.
Neuendorf is willing to wait however long it takes to land Klopp. The German board’s persuasiveness to sign the Reds’ manager could possibly change the former Borussia Dortmund manager’s stance on his contract.
Klopp and Liverpool
His current deal at the club lasts until 2026 (Transfermarkt), and the fans would hope to see the gaffer at least fulfill his present contract at the club. Beyond that period is a different question, but given the recent success he has brought to the club, the fans would not want the gaffer to leave abruptly.
The German is one of the most successful Liverpool managers and in 272 games for the club, he has led us to 172 wins (stats per Transfermarkt). Hopefully, his agent is right when he said that these narratives are just a media topic and nothing is true.
We will next see the gaffer in action, in the Dubai Super Cup later this month, wherein the Reds face AC Milan and Lyon in a series of club-friendly games. Post that, the Reds will be in action only when they face Aston Villa on 26th December.
Hopefully, Klopp’s attention isn’t distracted by these rumors linking him with the Germany job – which would certainly be appealing to any manager in world football. But if he was so unsure, then he surely wouldn’t have willingly extended his stay in Liverpool by two more years.
